Internet Matters is a unique organisation, born out of the willingness and commitment of four usually competitive organisations, BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Virgin Media O2, to work together to help keep children safe online. We have not yet reached our 10th birthday but are one of leading not-for-profit online safety organisations in the UK and we now work with not just our founders, but with almost 20 major global brands that include Meta, Google, and TikTok.
We aim to be the leading champion for parents, carers and professionals working with children, empowering them with comprehensive advice and proactive support, so that together we can help every child keep thriving safely in an ever-changing and complex digital world. We exist to:
- Give parents, carers and professionals the advice and support they need to help all children embrace the internet with confidence, and to protect them from online harms.
- Raise awareness through campaigns and industry partnerships so that children and young people can be happy and healthy online.
- Ensure the views of parents and children are consistently and systematically heard by industry, policy makers and government.
- Our website hosts comprehensive advice, information and practical tips & tools for parents along with several different propositions developed with our partners.
